Book review: The Rings: Journey Beneath Sirok (The Elias Chronicles Book 2) by E.G. Kardos

⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5
This started off very slowly and  with very little speech so it was like wading through treacle, but when the author got into his stride, the book really did come alive.

I'm knocking off the star because of that and also because the main character was still a school student, so older young adults would put it down and never pick it up again.  Each new chapter started on the same page as the previous chapter too, instead of on a new page which was annoying because I like to bookmark the start of a new chapter on it's own page, but these started half way down the page at the earliest.

If you're a 13-15 year old who enjoys fantasy, then get this book... just be patient with the descriptions and very little talking to start off with.

It's a good book, it just doesn't meet industry standards, but with a bit of editing my an editor would definitely have given this the full five stars.
