*ahem*

Exactly 50,000 words written in just under 6½ days.

That's it now until it starts all over again in January, but for now I'm gonna have my double J2O and start to get back into my non-writing headspace for the first time in a week.

8 down today, 3 to go tomorrow

I don't wanna make any cast iron guarantees, 'cos anything could happen in the mean time, but I'm on the final sprint of the marathon now 'cos I've only got 3 chapters left to write before I've totally finished the manuscript and NaNo for another year, in exactly a week.  If I'd written beyond the 5k for the first couple of days, I could potentially have finished it tonight, but I'm not too worried about that 'cos, assuming I do manage to write the final word tomorrow then I'll still be 3 days ahead of my plan, which I'm proud of, so I'm not gonna stress out about what I could have achieved in those early days if I'd kept writing.

I'm cautiously hopeful that Steve'll put the bread on to bake soon after I come downstairs, 'cos I reckon/hope I'll be finished by about 11am, then I'm gonna celebrate with two J2O's and try to work out what is real and what isn't again.

I hope that alcohol free champers is chilling nicely and you're ready to help me celebrate in a big way tomorrow?

Finished writing for the night again now

Just got exactly 11,000 words left to write and that's NaNo finished for another year.

Planning on 8k tomorrow and 3k before lunchtime on Sunday then have a double J2O and hopefully a still hot, home-made loaf of bread to devour for a celebratory lunch.

I'm hoping that I'll have 6 solid meals in my belly as well as a couple of slices of spreaded bread on the Thursday so that I don't feel so incredibly unwell as I did with the first one and having a small amount lining my stomach and a few cans of ginger beer and crystalised ginger, but that should keep me going for the week or 10 days that I was ill the second time around.

I'm gonna have a hot bubble bath after my lunch on Sunday and I'm not planning on doing much between finishing NaNo and my Covid jab other than celebrating, eating and drinking lol

Steve said that "this year seems to be significantly less stressful than previous years for some reason" and he's right... I've been able to knuckle down and write every day without jumping down his throat too much or getting stressed out about the writing itself, and that's significantly helped with getting it done and dusted so quickly too - 2.5 days sooner than I was thinking at the start and I've managed to write either 7k or 8k words every day instead of the 5k I was planning.  The less stressful the better for both of us I reckon.

Time to check my email and then take my pills and head to bed for an early night now I reckon and I'll be back down bright and early to write all day for the penultimate time this year.

I might try writing a different manuscript when I've finished my NaNo novel, so that I can stay in the writing headspace for as long as possible and make full use of my motivation.  I'm not even gonna think about that yet though, so that I don't get out of the heads of my MC for my NaNo novel.

Toodle-pip untill tomorrow evening!

5 down...

...3 to go this afternoon, then the same 8 chapters tomorrow and 3 on Sunday morning then that's it done and dusted for another year.  I'm gliding round the corner and can almost see the finish line now.

I can almost smell the bread baking <drool>

That's 16k words written in 2 days, sooo...

...if I write 8,000 words a day tomorrow and Saturday, I'll only have 3,000 words left to write on Sunday, which I'll hopefully achieve by around lunchtime then I can take my time coming back out of the characters heads and back into my own, ready for hopefully having the home-baked bread for lunch, then my first breakfast in two weeks on the Monday, fingers crossed home-made lunches (as opposed to either instant soup or nothing at all) on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and a hopefully hot bubble bath on the Wednesday ready for my Covid booster on the Thursday potentially making me ill for the following 10 days with the side effects I've had from it the first two times.

I'm right on track for finishing at the weekend though, which is 3 days sooner than I had planned, which is fine and dandy by me!  I've just passed the 15 mile marker on my twice yearly marathon and I'm not too exhausted yet, so might even be able to risk sprinting to the finish line instead of crawling over it like my first couple of years of doing it!

I'm approaching the final corner, leading to the finishing straight now... the finishing line is almost visible and it looks sooo good!

That's today's 5 chapters written and...

...my reward enjoyed, so I'm hoping to get to at least chapter 31 before bedtime 'cos that'll be 8 chapters today, but I'd love to get closer to 35 'cos it makes easier calculations for me then lol  As long as I finish chapter 31 before I hit the hay tonight, I'll be happy with that though.
