Not quite 9am on 4th November and...

...I'm officially half way through NaNo as of now.

Already written 2 chapters this morning and I'm hoping for an 8 chapter day today so that I'm just a smidgen over 2 days ahead of schedule and on track to type the final word on Monday instead of Wednesday.

Keep those fingers crossed for me pretty please?

Just finished writing for the day and...

...managed to achieve another 8k words today, so I'll hit the half way point before lunchtime tomorrow and, assuming I manage to write 7k tomorrow, I'll be two days ahead of my own personal schedule, which means I'll finish NaNo on Monday instead of Wednesday which is even better than I was hoping for.  If I can squeeze 15k words into Friday and Saturday and hopefully repeat it on Sunday and Monday too, I'll be in tears of celebration by the time I head to bed on Monday.  Might even be able to have a solid breakfast and lunch on Tuesday for the first time in nine days lol

Feeling especially proud of myself right now, so I'm gonna check my emails then take my pills and head to bed for an early night.  Be back again tomorrow... keep those digits crosssed for me for the next few days pretty please?!

As of now...

...I'm a day ahead of my personal target of 5,000 words a day, cos I've just typed my 15,000th word in only 2 days, so I'm on track for finishing on the 9th instead of the 10th now.  Tomorrow is gonna be another relatively low amount of words day 'cos of having to keep my ear on the door and phone while my hubby is at his medical appointment, but Thursday to Sunday should hopefully make up for it 'cos nothing is happening as far as we know, so I'll plug in to my music and zone out with my writing from about 5.30am until about 7pm with any luck - the only time I'm gonna move away from my laptop will be for wee breaks and to make my two mugs of soup each day so that I can keep my calorie count up as much as possible during NaNo.

Time to open my email for the first time in two days now I reckon, so that I'm not so overwhelmed by it when I've typed my final word.

I've been bribed with my first pieces of chocolate of NaNo which tasted sooo good.  We've got enough of it to keep me going for the rest of NaNo now, as long as I use it for end of day rewards, like I use the J2O's as reward for hitting 5,000 words a day.

That's today's 5 chapters written and...

...if I can write another two before I head to bed then I'll be on track for finishing on the 9th instead of the 10th if I carry on writing 5 chapters a day, but my new aim is to write at least 15 (ideally 16) chapters every 2 days so that I can finish on Sunday (the 7th) and be able to slowly come back to reality in time for my jab instead of rushing around right before and getting into even more of a tizzy than I usually do.  It also means that I can have a long, hopefully hot, relaxing bubble bath on the Monday and even be able to get things for me with the groceries on the Tuesday.

I've downed my J2O so I'm gonna crack on with today's final two (or hopefully three) chapters before I head to bed again.

Feeling pretty proud of myself right now.

That's me finished writing for today

Ended up at 8k words which is really good going by me I reckon. Tomorrow is gonna be a low writing day because of our groceries, but the rest of the week will be me aiming for another 5k words a day.

As long as I keep knocking out at least 5k words a day, I'm on track for finishing my NaNo novel at about lunchtime on the 10th but I'd love at least one more day of 7k-8k words by then if at all possible, so that I can hopefully get the whole thing finished on the 9th, then I can spend the 10th coming back to real life and having a (hopefully hot this time) bath ready for my jab on the 11th.

An hour later than I'd hoped, but...

...I've had to bring the recycling boxes and rubbish bag in then make two lunches this morning, which I was promised wouldn't happen, but predictably did, so I've just opened my first J2O of NaNo and I'm hoping for at least another couple of chapters, ideally three, before I head to bed tonight 'cos our groceries are due tomorrow.  The same person that promised to do the rubbish, recycling and lunches has promised that he'll deal with tomorrow's groceries totally alone as well, which I won't believe until I see it.  If I can knock out the extra chapters this afternoon then it won't matter so much if he breaks yet another promise tomorrow.

I've got past one of the two hardest places for me to write in each manuscript (I never know how to start or end 'em, but I'm fine when I've got going), so it's full steam ahead now.

If you're doing NaNo too, how are you getting on so far?  What's your daily target?  Are you treating yourself to something when you hit each daily target so that you can keep yourself motivated or are you just writing as much as possible each day?

On track for...

...getting my first J2O of NaNo by around about late lunchtime!

It's 🕚 11am and I'm about to start my fourth chapter of the day and each one takes about an hour and a half to do, so hopefully I'll be savouring the first bottle before 🕑 2pm today.  Can't wait!
